The Colony at Jack London Square is a luxury apartment building in the Jack London Square District of the Old Oakland waterfront. The landscape living spaces consist of a third level central courtyard with an outdoor yoga area, a street level courtyard with a dog park and passive gathering space for the residents, and a public plaza for the surrounding urban community to share. A living wall is incorporated into the courtyard walls along the streetscape to add a vibrant green backdrop to the plaza and filter the exhaust fumes from the surroundings. Sustainable site strategies include storm water collection details, the living wall, trees for carbon offset, recycling, water conservation, and a selection of eco intelligent materials and products that add to sustainable, urban living.
